Pune-based start-up Vayve Mobility has launched India’s first-ever solar-powered electric car- EVA at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025 at an attractive price starting with Rs. 3.25 lakh (ex-showroom). According to Vayve Mobility, Eva electric car is a two-seater slim city vehicle perfect for commuting in busy city roads where traffic jam and parking challenges are everyday phenomena.

Eva electric car: Pre-booking and additional benefits

Vayve Eva is now open for pre-booking at a token price of Rs. 5000. Although, the actual delivery of the solar car will begin in latter half of 2026 as it is still in the development stage. However, pre-booking of the Eva electric car is now open to the customers and the first 25,000 customers will get additional benefits like an extended warranty and 3 years of complimentary vehicle connectivity.

Eva electric car: Price

The price of the Eva electric car varies from 3.25 lakh to 5.99 lakh. Eva comes with an additional battery rental plan (BAAS plan). With this plan, the Nova, Stella and Vega variants come with a price of 3.25 lakh, 3.99 lakh and 4.49 lakh, respectively, whereas, without the battery subscription option, the cost of the car goes to 3.99 lakh, 4.99 lakh and 5.99 lakh.

Eva electric car: Battery and range

The company offers three variants of Eva- Nova with standard features, Stella with enhanced features and Vega with premium features. Vayve Eva comes with multiple battery pack options. While the base variant Nova features a 9kWh battery pack with a claimed range of 125 kilometres, the mid-range variant Stella offers a 12kWh battery pack promising a range of 175 kilometres. With a 18kWh battery pack, the top-range Vega claims to offer 250-kilometre range on a single full charge.

Eva electric car: Battery subscription plan

For the battery subscription plan, Vayve charges Rs. 2 per km. This essentially reduces the initial buying cost (upfront cost) of the car as you don’t have to pay the cost of the battery. In that case, as per the company policy, you must pay for a minimum kilometre, even if you don’t use the car at all. The minimum distance that you must pay for is 600 km for the Nova, 800 km for the Stella and 1200 km for the Vega.

Eva comes with a fixed glass roof fitted with solar charging panels that can charge the EV via solar energy and add 10 km range every day.

Eva electric car: Features

The 3-door Eva electric car gets a sleek, smart and compact design. It comes with 13-inch aerodynamically designed wheels and 2-spoke steering wheels. It gets three seats – one for the driver and the other two for passengers, placed just behind the driver’s seat. Although Eva is a basic electric car, it comes with some attractive features like- round LED headlights, tail lights, dual digital display on dashboard (instrument panel and infotainment), PM2.5 air purifier and an integrated cool-box.

For the safety front, Eva gets an airbag for the driver, 3-point seatbelts for the passengers, 6-way electrically-adjustable driver’s seat, TPMS, and a dual-display for the driver.

Eva electric car: Performance

Eva can accelerate a maximum speed up to 70 km per hour making it suitable for city travel. It takes only five seconds to gain speed from 0 to 40 kmph. The Nova and Stella get a 12kW motor, while the Vega gets a 15kW motor. Using a DC fast-charger, the Vega variant takes only 20 minutes to charge the battery from 10% to 70%. In case of home charging, all the variants of the Eva electric car take approximately 5 hours for a full charge.
