The Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025, the biggest automotive expo of the year, is going to start today. The 2nd edition of the expo, organized from 17th to 22nd January will be held in Delhi NCR across three different places with different themes viz. Bharat Mandapam at Pragati Maidan, Yashobhoomi Convention Centre in Dwarka and India Expo Center and Mart, Greater Noida.

The Auto Expo Motor Show 2025

The Bharat Mandapam is going to hold key events including the Auto Expo, Tyre Show, Battery Show, India Cycle Show, Mobility Tech and Steel Innovation.

The Auto Expo Motor Show 2025, under the aegis of Bharat Mobility Global Expo, will showcase a range of the latest and upcoming concept models from a range of industry players focussing on the future of sustainable mobility and unveiling state-of-the-art technologies.

Auto Expo 2025: 7 EVs to keep an eye on

Maruti Suzuki e Vitara

The e Vitara is Maruti Suzuki’s first ever mass-production electric SUV and it will make its India debut at the upcoming Auto Expo 2025. The Suzuki Motor Corporation revealed this model globally in Milan, Italy in November 2024. The manufacturing of e Vitara will be made at Maruti’s Gujrat plant and sales are expected to begin in the middle of this year to countries including India, Japan and Europe.

The e Vitara Will be available in two battery options- 49 kWh and 61 kWh. The EV features an e-Axle which integrates the motor and inverter along with Lithium iron-phosphate batteries. It is likely to come with both front-wheel as well as all-wheel drive variants. While there is no confirmation on the range of e Vitara, it is expected that the EV would travel around 500 km on a single full charge.

Hyundai Creta EV

The much-anticipated electric version of Hyundai India’s popular model, Hyundai Creta EV will debut its journey at the Auto Expo. The Hyundai Creta EV will come with premium features from its flagship sibling Ioniq 5. It is expected to come with a 10.25-inch digital driver display, Bose sound system and voice-activated panoramic sunroof. For comfort, it will have ventilated and powered front seats, dual-zone climate control and 4 dot steering wheel design.

The Creta Electric is expected to get Level 2 ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems), adaptive cruise control, forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, blind spot detection along with 6 airbags, a 360-degree camera and a powered tailgate. In terms of powertrain, the Hyundai Creta is planned to bear a 45kWh battery with an electric motor producing 138 hp and 255 Nm. It is expected to offer a range of around 450 km on a single charge and will have advanced regenerative braking to further increase efficiency and range

Tata Harrier EV

The Harrier EV is Tata Motors’ other contribution to India’s transition to electric mobility backed by a strong and comprehensive lineup from Curvv EV to Tigor EV.  Tata Motors has planned to launch the upcoming Harrier EV at the 2025 Auto Expo.

Based on the patent leak, it is likely to get a Rear-Wheel-Drive (RWD) system for its 4WD variants with Front-Wheel-Drive (FWD) system as the standard drivetrain option. The Harrier EV is expected to come with 60 kWh and 80 kWh battery options and could offer a range of around 500 km on drive on a single full charge.

The EV will bring a large touchscreen infotainment driver display, 360-degree surround view camera, panoramic sunroof, auto climate control and many more exciting features.

Tata Sierra EV

Showcased in the 2023 Auto Expo, the Tata Sierra EV is gearing up to make another appearance at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025. It is expected to be launched in August 2025.

The Sierra EV could offer a 60-80 kWh high-range battery pack with a claimed range of over 500 km on a single full charge. The EV will be available with a five-seater configuration and a four-seater lounge option. The Creta Electric is expected to be equipped with Level-2 Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS), dual digital displays and 6 airbags as standard.

Hyundai Ioniq 9

Revealed in November 2024, Hyundai Ioniq 9 will make its first public debut at the Auto Expo 2025. This all-electric SUV offers a 6-7 seat configuration, spacious and lavish interior, panoramic display, 12-inch touchscreen infotainment system, vehicle-to-load feature and many more. Ioniq 9 can offer a 110.3 kWh battery with a claimed range of 620km on a single full charge. The SUV is also claimed to be compatible with a 350kW fast charger that can charge the battery from 10 percent to 80 percent in just 24 minutes.

Mahindra XEV 9e

Mahindra will showcase the mid-sized electric SUV XEV 9e at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025. This premium EV features a triple 12.3-inch screen setup, a panoramic glass roof, a 360-degree camera, and Level-2 Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS). It will be offered with two battery pack options—59 kWh and 79 kWh—delivering a claimed range of up to 656 km.

Mahindra BE 6

Along with XEV 9e, Mahindra will also showcase the BE 6 at the Auto Expo beginning today. Mahindra BE 6 will come with robust features including a panoramic glass roof, heads-up display, 360-degree camera, 16-speakers Harman Kardon-sourced music system and Level 2 Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS). Like XEV 9e, the BE 6 can offer 59 kWh and 79 kWh battery packs with a claimed range of up to 682 km.

The focus of the 2025 Auto Expo will be on electric vehicles considering the necessity of sustainable mobility in future transportation. In addition to above 6 all-electric SUVs, the event will showcase several electric cars. A few to mention here are Kia Syros, Skoda Kodiaq, Vinfast VF3, Vinfast VF9 and BYD Sealion 7.
