In a significant step toward strengthening its portfolio in the electric vehicle segment, Hyundai Motor India Limited has officially unveiled the much-anticipated Hyundai Creta Electric SUV specification in its second teaser ahead of its official lunch at the Bharat Global Mobility Expo 2025. The first teaser image of Creta Electric showcased a wall-mounted EV charger captioning “Electric is now CRETA”
Carrying forward the name of the brand’s popular ICE model, the Creta Electric is claimed to be Hyundai’s most affordable car in its EV lineup. The Korean carmaker has provided a closer look at the features of the EV showcasing its interior and exterior design, safety features, battery pack options and claimed driving range. The Hyundai also released a TV commercial captioning “India is now ready; electric is now Creta.”
Hyundai Creta EV SUV: Variants and Color
Hyundai Creta Electric will be available in the market in four variants- Executive, Premium, Smart and Excellence, catering to the range of preferences and budgets of the buyers. The EV SUV will come with 10 different color options with 8 monotone and two dual-tone color options combinations including 3 matte finish color options.
Hyundai Creta EV SUV: Design and Features
Hyundai has carried over the design of its ICE counterpart to the electric version with minor but significant changes. The front gets inspiration from the sporty N Line and has connected L-shaped LED DRLs and vertically stacked dual-barrel LED headlights. Active air flaps are integrated into the front bumper to regulate the temperature of critical components like the battery.
The charging port is cleverly hidden behind the Hyundai logo on the front bumper. The Creta Electric rides on aerodynamically designed17-inch alloy wheels to add to the SUV’s futuristic look. At the back, it has the connected LED taillights and an “Electric” badge. The Rear bumper is new with a pixelated design adding an edge to the overall styling of the EV.
Hyundai Creta EV SUV: Interior
The cabin of the Creta EV SUV stays similar to its ICE counterpart. It features the signature twin screens – one for the infotainment system and the other for the instrument cluster. The interior maintains a sophisticated dual-tone color scheme, adding a touch of elegance. However, the Creta Electric brings a twist with a new three-spoke steering wheel which is similar to Hyundai Ioniq 5.
Hyundai Creta EV SUV: Other Features
The Creta Electric SUV is packed with features designed to enhance both driving and comfort such as multiple driving modes, a panoramic sunroof, dual-zone climate control, a wireless charger, an air purifier, digital key and a regenerative braking system with a one-pedal driving option to ensure a modern and engaging driving experience.
Hyundai Creta EV SUV: Safety Options
In terms of safety, the Creta Electric is expected to get six airbags, 360-degree camera for detecting blind-spots, Level-2 Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) suite and much more.
Hyundai Creta EV SUV: Battery and Range
The Creta Electric will likely come with two battery options: a 42kWh pack offering an ARAI-rated range of 390 km, and a larger 51.4 kWh pack with a claimed range of 473 km. While the specifications of its electric motor have not yet been disclosed, Hyundai Motor India has revealed that the Creta EV can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 7.9 seconds.
Hyundai is likely to offer multiple charging options for the convenience of EV SUV users. Using a DC fast charger, one can recharge the battery from 10% to 80% in just 58 minutes. In case of home charging, recharging the battery full from 10% with an 11 kW AC charger can take about 4 hours.
Hyundai Creta EV Price
The Hyundai Creta Electric will be launched at the upcoming 2025 Auto Expo. The ex-showroom prices of the variants Creta Electric are expected to start from INR 17 lakh.
